Gattera

Dominated by the famous cedar of Lebanon, Gattera is a Geographical Mention of Barolo named after the farmstead of the same name that overlooks the area.

Vigneto Gattera - Mauro Veglio

Located on the border between the municipalities of La Morra and Castiglione Falletto, it follows a rather articulated course, with slopes that rise from the provincial road for Barolo towards the hamlet of Annunziata, in a hilly arc that runs from south-west and south-east to north-east. The Tortonian soils of La Morra (clay, sand and limestone) meet the Helvetian soils of Castiglione (very compact brown marls). Here we cultivate roughly a hectare of vineyard in a south-westerly position, at an altitude of about 250 m: a vineyard with excellent exposure which yields a mature, spicy, warm and intense Barolo.
